The MYLO MAG.

The MYLO Mag launched in August of 2024 with a mission to reach more clients through the power of email marketing.

What started as a simple campaign grew into something more beautiful than we imagined. So much so, that we decided to make a permanent place for each masterful magazine issue right here at MyloMag.com.

A Letter From the Editor

When I started this thing I thought of something totally different and it wasn’t this. Far from it. I was on a mission to create an email campaign or program or whatever you want to call it in order to bring more connection with our clients and potential clients and anyone who loves to learn and grow. Having been in this industry for a “hot minute” to quote Jackie, I figured this would have be something pretty awesome to get people to take a glance, open it and read onward.

So I went to work. I wrote content, created artwork, threw out ideas, utilized ChatGPT, looked at emails from suppliers and brands. I took time to explore and learn how to curate these dang things all while asking myself, “How are you going to make any compelling emails consistently when you yourself despise emails and have Consistency as your 34th strength out of the 34 strengths on the CliftonStrengths list.

So, I began. I put it together. I created a 9 week plan to start and showed it to my team. Without fanfare or real connection to any of it. I wrote it, I created it, I made it and I trashed it. I couldn’t bring myself to send out something that I was already tired of and expect anyone else to want to read it, let alone open it. I wrote it and didn’t even want to read it.

I took time to really ponder what I love to see, read, open, etc. What makes me “click.” And it came to me. I miss magazines. I went to Barnes & Noble and bought some, I browsed through editions of magazines that are so beautifully designed and put together by publishers right here in Omaha. And I knew this was the key. This was something that would drive me. And doing them weekly would give me a deadline which would be imperative to helping me stay on track.

Cola would figure out the portion of utilizing ActiveCampaign to make it all come to fruition. We’d schedule meetings every few weeks to plan out the future editions and we’d throw it in the wind and see how it would go.

And just like autumn leaves, in this season of change, I changed. I grew. I discovered something new about myself and my limiting beliefs about my talents. I renewed my desire to write and bring community together through visual love, interesting stories, business development and humor.

So MYLO Mag was born. I even bought the url for $.01 because, well, it was available and I might just want to turn that into something cool too. This is just the beginning. I hope you enjoy turning these virtual pages as much as I love watching the season turn to fall.

Browse. Read. Laugh. Enjoy.
